Boken Prototypa!
This book was published in Swedish in 2023 on the occasion of the 400th anniversary of Gothenburg, Sweden. The book is the result of a collaboration between the City of Gothenburg and SLU Movium Think Tank and is linked to the exhibition Show me don’t tell me, which was on display at Frihamnen, Gothenburg, in summer 2023, and at Bundeskunsthalle in Bonn 2025 when the English version was published.
Prototype!
The interest in exploratory work and testing new approaches in urban development is growing, both in Sweden and internationally. Experimenting and learning from experience – with a prototyping approach – requires both courage and patience. Gothenburg, Sweden is one of these pioneers and has used prototypes to explore new approaches to urban development, often in collaboration with the general public or various interest groups. Conflicts arising have been resolved by means of active collaboration and hands-on action.
